The Weekend Hype...

So... this weekend, Friday to be exact, the ladies & I hit the town for our official "S.A.T.C." weekend event. These chicks were HYPE about it, too. I on the other hand, was excited to be hanging out with the girls, but having only seen the show a good ONE TIME, I clearly wasn't as hype as the rest of the crew. When I got my evite, I responded... "I'll be there! I'm Carrie! Blah, blah, blah..." Not knowing exactly which one Carrie was. *smh* I figured it was SJP, since she's the star & for me to remember that name, it had to be her. My girl SP was like, "What are you wearing, tonight?" I said, "Well... I'm wearing a tutu & some leggin's... a cute shirt & some heels." To which I got *slience* & I responded... "I'm Carrie, right?" lmao! But... SP was like... "Um... we're gonna fight to be Carrie tonight, cause I'm Carrie!" lol!

Never the less... the night started out with dinner & libation at T.G.I.Fridays! A total of (7) of us ended up showing up for the night out and we really had a good time. We had a waiter that seemed to be a tad bit on the "short bus" so... he was the brunt of a few of our jokes for a minute. Everyone decided to declare who they were. No one selected Miranda as their person. And no one selected Samantha, at first, either. I said... "Fine, I'll be Samantha!" And all I got were some big smiles and then someone said, "um... you might want to wait until you see the movie to decide if you want to be her. She's kind of a freak." *a bunch of giggles in the backgound* To which I responded, "well... I AM the freak of the group, aren't I?" lmao! (This comment had to do with a convo about the bullet (sex toy) on the way home from a superbowl party back in January). Never the less... I said I'd hold off until I actually saw the movie to declare myself as her.

Anyhoo... my girl, SP, got our tixs a couple of days in advance so... we were good. Or so we thought. By the time we got there, that joint was FULL! *smh* We ended up sitting in the 3rd row!! Grrrr... Watchin' a flick for two & a half hours lookin' straight UP at the screen will kill your neck! And it definitely killed ours. But... I really friggin' enjoyed the flick. At least from the standpoint of not having seen the real show more than once... so it was cool for me. Actually, we all enjoyed the show. I've read some mixed reviews from die hard S.A.T.C. fans, but for me... I actually got a different message out of the flick. I honestly LOVED the friendships that the ladies have & hold onto. And surprisingly (or not so surprisingly), I spent a decent amount of the flick thinking about some friendships that have fallen off. But, one in particular, that I miss on a much bigger/broader level. At the end of the flick... a couple of tears were welling up in my eyes and I was fighting tooth & nail to get them wiped & off my face before the house lights came on. I mean... heaven forbid that "I" (the one who's not the avid fan) would be one of the ones in tears (lol!) so... TRUST, I got them off my face real quick. And although the tears left/dried... the thoughts didn't. So... I'm not sure what my next move is or if I'm going to let things remain as they are. But... I really do love the relationship the ladies had. To be ride or die like that, unconditional, and to argue/fuss/fight and still forgive & move forward (even in the midst of a storm) is one of the things I absolutely enjoyed. (3) of the ladies I went w/ are BFF's and... I had to text SP to let her know how much having the opportunity to watch these ladies grow & interact over the years has been wonderful... and that it was such a treat to be out w/ them for the night. We had about a 5-10 minute text exchange about it (the next day). Aside from that... I ended up texting back -n- forth w/ an ex of mine, as well, which was also refreshing.

Anyhoo... we left there and SP thought we should hit up a club (out in dayum EGYPT). I was like... "nah, I'm not going." But... that lasted for all of 2 minutes, as SP was on my head about ruining the night or not being any fun if I didn't go. Grrr... So, I ended up going. It wouldn't have been so bad if we'd have taken the shortest route to get there, but as you can tell by the route of this story... the short route was not even close to the route we took. lol. Anyhoo... long story short, there was about 25 folks up in that joint (on the club side) so, we stayed all of 2.5 minutes and bounced. (You know I was screaming 'Thank you, Jesus!' in my head, right?) Especially since they wanted me to come back out w/ them the next night. (And two nights out in this state is definitely a no go for the kid). I just can't seem to get w/ the going out thing out here anymore. Long story short, though... Saturday, I was in bed early & asleep... after running (4) miles out on a trail. I just couldn't participate in night two. My body wasn't having it.

Well, let me run. I will be seeing S.A.T.C. again this week w/ another one of my girlfriends. She never watched the show, either, so... she isn't that hyped about going to see the flick. But... I'm positive she'll love it. It should be a sushi & movie night, so I am more than ready. I ate sushi (4) times last week. I just can't get enough of that stuff.

Be Blessed,

Uh oh... It's back!

So... it's been a long road back to this blogging thing. And my life has been full of ups & downs along the way. But thankfully, I've been blessed to have some AMAZING friends in my life. I mean... I've lost a few, and gained some new. Missed some old, yet strengthened some new (and old, too). But the ones who have been constant... are currently some of my greatest treasures. =o) Although... it's funny how you can develop some lasting & meaningful friendships online. Not that I'm looking to gain more friends, who I just happen to meet online thru blogging. But then again, I wasn't expecting/looking to make friends when I first started blogging back in the day. I'm just here to get my thoughts out again. More so about the fun stuff or whatever really happens to be on my mind at the time. But... never the less, I'm truly grateful for my added blessings of "sunshine" who have helped keep me sane (positive) during the roller coaster ride of life. I'm upbeat about a lot of things these days. And I'm definitely rockin' the confident swagger on some things. And it appears my bloggin mojo is back (please note, that mojo is subject to change at any given time).

Anyhoo... I've been sick most of last week/this weekend. Go figure. Trust me, I've had all the "SICK" I can take for one year. After the 'bout w/ the flu (that I promise you, just about had me on my death bed with) for a month, I'm good on getting sick. Minor cold or not, I'll pass! And being sick in 85 degree heat w/ a cold is a definite NO GO. Other than that... I was at the state convention/assembly for the Colorado Dem. Party for 10 hrs. on Saturday, as I was a delegate for Mr. O. It was past unorganized. I stood for a good 5 or more hours for this mess. Mind you, this was the 3rd one in 2 1/2 months. The one before this one was the house district convention, and the one before that was the county. Grrr... Mr. O better appreciate my ballot for the delegates I voted to send to the Nat'l convention & then some.

Well... let me catch some of you up on the life rundown. Met a cutie (won't say how, cause that's a joke in itself) but... long story short, he was trash. Negro dissed me via text msg. y'all. LMAO! Text message? Word? Never in my life have I ever been dissed via text. AND he's over the age of 30. We're still cool, I guess. Maybe not. I deleted his ass from my myspace so... y'all know a myspace deletion = dead friendship, no? Rotflmbao. I'm kidding... sort of, kind of, not really. Technically he was Sybil. Sybil w/ a 5 inch dick (or so he said. I don't know, as I never saw it, but since he got sensitive over a lil' dick conversation that had nothing to do with him, one night, I'm guessing he wasn't playing on the 5 inches). I really shouldn't be puttin' his business out there like that, I guess. But, y'all know I never give out names, anyway. And did I mention he dissed me via text? No? *smh* Let me stop. That's not really my steelo, but... I think I'll leave it be, for now, since my flashback sensory device is currently kickin' in overdrive. But please, get out your rulers & look at the 5 inch mark. I'll wait... Okay, okay... I'm really going to stop at this point. Cause this is starting to be funny. And since I try not to harp on other's "short"comings... I'm going to rebuke the devil now & get my angel wings on & be nice. *Jesus take the wheel...* Shout out to my rebound "friend" for tellin' me dude was a clown.

Anyhoo... been working contract for the last two years. My contract ended on my job back in December. Was out of work for a good (5) months (who'd have ever thunk it). I was cool at first, cause I mean... I've never had a problem finding a job. But boy was I wrong. The economy & job market has been a *itch. Thankfully, I'm back in business. Lord knows the 'happy go sad' days were kickin' my tail every other day. But God is definitely good. Big ups to those who weathered the storm with me. Seriously... I've definitely learned the difference between the real & real fake, when it comes to friendship.

Met another lil' somebody. (Let's not forget, people: I'm single so I date! So if (7) guys are mentioned in the blog, well... then apparently I went on (7) dates... or something like it). So anyway, I met him through a mutual friend. He played his 'lost his mind' card a while back, but I've since given him a pass. He currently has A LOT of my attention, albeit long distance (the story of my life). But... once again, it is what it is. And since I KNOW Colorado isn't what it is (or where it's at for my hubby to be found), long distance it is. Other than that, I met a stalker last month (here, of course). And here's a newsflash for you men, you should never play your crazy card w/in 24 hrs. of meeting someone, if you expect to ever go out on a date with that Kat. Yeah... dude was officially C.R.A.Z.Y. I'm talking, asked if he could take me to breakfast after the club the night he met me, to which I replied, nah... I've gotta get up early & go to church. To which he then inquired, what was the name of my church & I hesitantly told him (no harm, right?). To which he then asked, where it was located and I conveniently told him (with a laugh & a hint of sarcasm) to "google it." To which he surprisingly DID, and SHOWED UP (or drove by) the next day & text'd me to let me know he was outside of my church. *blank stare* Yeah... homie, you're either a certified STALKER or you're a BEATER (yeah, I threw him into that category; based upon much more than I've said in this blog). I could be wrong. Although my girlfriends don't think I am. I mean... he did call me (7x's) between 2 am (the night he met me) & 12 noon the next day, not to mention (4) text's, which screams desperation if you ask me. For some reason, he hasn't given up texting/calling... cause (2) months & some change later, I still get them out of the blue. I'll save that blog for an entirely different day, though... cause the length of this would be ridiculous. And those of you in the know... know I can write a book for a blog. So... another time, perhaps?

But... the highlight of the last two weeks, was going out w/ my ex's BFF. (Not like that, his peeps are my peeps and we're all pretty tight). So... let's just call him GameTime, from here on out. GameTime has madd game, y'all (hence the name). Something serious. We went out on a Wednesday night. Getting me to go out on ANY night in CO, these days is a task. So a Wednesday? Yeah... he was doing good. I went by the hotel to pick him up. He's on a project out here for some months. And... dayum if dude wasn't lookin' a bit flyy. Don't worry, this isn't going to turn into a, I slept w/ my ex's BFF blog. It's not even that type of party. So... I meet him at the bar in the hotel. I'm tryin' to explain to him that black people don't go out on Wednesday nights in CO. He's like... uh, maybe not you sistah's but the brotha's do! *whatever* So... he's lookin' to hang out w/ "The Becky's" that night. So... I text one of my promoter friends out here to find out what there is to get into on a Wednesday night? He text's me back to a joint downtown. We go... go in check out the scene (yeah, I'm the only sistah up in the joint upon 1st look), and cop a table. GameTime orders us some drinks & we're chillin'. Now, in his defense, there were about 10 brotha's up in that joint when we got there. A couple of which I knew. So... we're sittin' there discussing these chicks and I happen to look up & there's about 10 add'l brotha's on the scene. GameTime smirks & says, "didn't I tell you the brotha's come out on Wednesdays?" *smh* So... I'm like, trust me... these brothas' mos definitely ain't checkin' for sistahs', as WE don't come out on Wednesday nights out in this piece. He laughs, but reluctantly agrees. So... we're sittin' back in the cut, chillin'... laughin'... drinkin'... pointing out potential chicks for him. Mind you... everyone up in this joint has assumed we're a couple from the time we walk in. It was truly funny to watch these chicks try to figure out a way to look at or scheme to try to holla at him on the low. A group of chicks try to post up around the table. GameTime & I look at each other and he starts to talk to one of them. Chick starts lookin' at me & you can tell she's afraid that I might jump out of my chair & clown her or something. I'm giggling my ass off on the inside. She continues to talk to him for a bit & I can tell she's fallin' for "the game" he's spittin', a bit. Her girls come over to my side of the table just acting like they want to sit down in the open chairs on the other side of me. I ignore the chicks. UNTIL... one of them (the one who looks like she has down-syndrome in the face, but you can't tell her she isn't fine as hell) leans over & is like... "is that your man?" I say... who him? Heck no! *smh* (As if I would be sittin' at the table all calm, cool & collected if "my man" was blantantly disrespecting me by hollerin' at your girl in front of my face. Getdafukkouttahere with that non-sense!)

Anyhoo... next thing you know, a cutie that had just confessed to having a huge crush on me for years (two weeks prior), walks in. So he looks at me & smiles, gives me a hug... looks at GameTime & I introduce him as "my boy" GameTime, purposely. However, clearly, he thought GameTime & I STILL had something going on. *smh* He walks off... and GameTime inquires about him. I tell him, but let him know that I'm pretty sure ol' boy thinks we're an item. GameTime wants to find him to let him know it's not like that... but I told him, not to be pressed, as I wasn't. Although ol' boy is definitely a cutie pie. But... the truth of the matter is, ol' boy most definitely knows how to reach me if he wants to. So... GameTime & I keep enjoyin' our night. He gets up to walk around. I'm chillin' at the table checkin' out the rest of the scenery. At one point my eye catches some fine cat walking across the room. I perk up like... "WHO the heck is that sexy mo fo?!" I look again... & realize it's friggin' GameTime! *smdh* I was gigglin' to myself something serious after I said... "ahh hell nawl!" to myself. Needless to say, this other brotha made a mad dash for my table after he realized that the coast was clear, since GameTime had stepped away. He starts to spit his game, but then stops to ask, "are you here w/ the dude that was sittin' here?" I respond, "nah, that's my boy. He's actually one of my ex's best friends." He says, "I was getting ready to say.... This cat has a beautiful sistah sittin' up in front of his face & he's runnin' around here talkin' to these non-chocolate females?" I throw in... "and he went to a HBCU, no less," just adding fuel to the fire. *smh* So of course, the dude that was tryin' to holla @ me is from DC & apparently went to an HBCU, as well. We shoot the breeze for a bit. He tells me he's a biologist & some other lil' tidbits about himself. GameTime comes back to the table & I introduce them & they shoot the *ish a bit. Biologist & I exchange #'s (I'm not really interested but... what the heck) & he offers to treat both myself & GameTime to drinks the next night and bounces out of my space. I let GameTime know that his time is just about up @ the spot because my butt is tired. He's looking for a pen to jot down this other chicks #, as his phone is dead. I tell him to just put the chicks # in my phone. Once again, Becky is looking at me like I'm getting ready to jump on her or something. lol! She whispers to him, um... you're just going to put my # in her phone like that in front of her, are you?? (Again, Becky... let's be a bit more clear on the fact that he OBVIOUSLY isn't my man if this is going down. Not to mention I told him to put it in my phone). *smh* He had to get her straight. So... (4-5) #'s later, we finally bounce. He gets in the car & says... "I can't believe you made me leave." I say, "I can't believe you thought I was going to stay there all night! It's a Wednesday... and I'VE got to work tomorrow. I can hardly keep my eyes open as it is!" Needless to say, I had a good time kickin' it out with him. I can't tell you the # of chicks that thought they were tryin' to holla @ him on the sly & drop the digits. Dayum... folks are a bit scandalous, not knowing if I was his girl or not. He says, "Man... I've got to bring you out with me more often... cause you increase my marketability (or some *ish like that)." I just shook my head. Fun times. Not to mention he dayum near filled up my gas tank! I mean... FREE gas, is the equivalent of great sex, no? lol. Just kidding. I mean... really, you just can't beat free gas these days.

Well... let me end this joint. It's been far too much typing going on over here in this here blog. I don't want to hear any complaints coming from my old Xanga heads, either. Oh... but I wrote the biologist guy off as a stalker, as well... as he called me (7x's) from 1:17am to 1:26am. Really dude? Really? What in the world could have possibly been that important to tell me at 1:17 in the a.m.? My guess... Nothing. Please stop the madness.

Be Blessed,
B.K.

Is my blog mojo on hiatus?

So... now that I finally have my desire to start blogging again...
I just can't seem to get started. Go figure.

I must do better.

The end.
